According to a study completed by the U.S. Education Department, math and reading scores fell dramatically for America’s school-aged children during the Covid pandemic. Reading scores saw their largest decrease in 30 years, while math scores had their first decrease in history.

Not surprisingly, the short-sighted heavy-handed shutdown policies in our state have data that shows our children’s academic performance has declined substantially in math and reading in the past 2 years.
The long-term impact of these shutdowns and their emotional and developmental impacts will be felt by our children for years to come. The only benefit that has come from these awful decisions is that local moms and dads are calling out those responsible for poor decisions at local and state levels regarding their children’s educational well-being. It is time to show these agenda-driven politicos the door.
